Families Together

FamiliesTogether

About the Ministry – Families Together is close to the heart of many at St. Philip due to our relationship with this awesome ministry… and the fact that some of our members had a hand in its inception as Pan Lutheran Ministries! PLM Families Together has changed its name to “Families Together” to better reflect their primary purpose to keep families with children together. They provide housing and comprehensive services for families experiencing homelessness in Wake County. Their programs include assessment, short-term housing, rapid re‑housing support, intensive support services, permanent housing placement, and 12-month stabilization care.

St Philip Volunteers

Ministry Needs – “Tidy Team” Cleaning Crew needed to help ready short-term apartments that provide temporary housing for families with children experiencing homelessness. Because of the demand for our emergency shelter apartments, we only have a week to clean up before they are needed again. Ideally, volunteers on our “stand-by” cleaning crew would have flexible schedules during the week and would be available with only a few days’ notice to come deep clean and sanitize one or more apartments. Savings in cleaning services expenses enable us to expand our program. Please contact Sandy Glass at mark.glass@gmail.com to be added to the group of those interested!

Upcoming Opportunities – We are still growing our relationship in the “hands-on” partnership with Families Together. If you are interested in being part of this ministry, please check in with Kathy Blum, Julie Helmey, Carol Puente or Carol Woodyard for details.
