Overview

St. Philip Lutheran Preschool is a week-day preschool stressing living and learning in a loving Christian environment.  Believing that each child is special and unique, our goal is to foster the individual growth of each child:

  • In their self confidence and positive self image

  • In their social skills

  • In their interaction with others

  • In their ability to meet new situations

  • In their emotional maturity

  • In their language and motor skill development

  • In their academic achievements

St. Philip has an atmosphere of nurturing and loving care where the children discover new ideas, form friendships, and develop ways to live and work together.  Learning is a pleasant experience and school must be a fun and enjoyable place.  St. Philip believes that children grow in understanding in this atmosphere.

Our Program

Our program is a half day program meeting from 9:00-12:00 (9:00 – 1:00 for Kindergarten).  We have classes for children aged two to five years old.  All of our classes have a certified lead teacher and a helping teacher.  The two-year old class size is ten and for all other ages is fourteen. An optional “Munch Bunch” is available from 12:00 to 1:00 on Monday – Thursday for an additional fee.

Learning experiences appropriate to each age group are incorporated into daily lessons.  The children participate in developmental activities.

What Makes St Philip Unique?

  • We maintain a Christ-centered environment through weekly Chapel and daily classroom activities.

  • All of our Lead Teachers are certified with degrees in Early Childhood or Elementary Education.

  • We celebrate the longevity of our staff, with several of our staff members exceeding 15 years at the preschool!

  • Our curriculum includes Music, Art, Spanish (4 & 5 year old classes), Science and Discovery, various field trips, and more.

  • Our cutoff date for our classes is Oct 15th, allowing for earlier enrollment.

  • We maintain low teacher:child ratios in our classes (1:6 for 2-yr olds, and 1:7 for 3, 4, and 5-yr olds).

  • We encourage and offer many opportunities for parent involvement including volunteering in the classroom, participating on field trips, sharing knowledge, experiences or interests with the children, etc.
