Curriculum
At St Philip, our curriculum is based on the premise that children learn in a variety of ways, at different speeds, with an experiential background provided by their parents. Play is children’s work and the classes at St. Philip offer a variety of activities to try numerous tasks. Combining opportunities for free play with structured activities, the preschool utilizes certified teachers and helping teachers to guide the children through a theme-based curriculum which includes:
-
Language Development
-
Art, Music & Movement
-
Number Usage
-
Preparatory Writing Skills
-
Gross & Fine Motor Skills
-
Reading Readiness & Phonics
-
Science & Social Studies
-
Spanish
Learning is sequential and multi-sensory and our teachers strive to make their rooms interesting and appropriate for the total growth of each child spiritually, socially, academically, and physically.
The curriculum includes weekly chapel services which are supplemented with classroom Bible stories, songs, and prayers. Christian ideals are not viewed as a subject apart from our daily living, but rather as the way to live and work together.
